Lots of catching up to do

Sorry, about the really long break between posts. I never meant for it to go this long. It's been nuts here with sick kids, a trip up to Anchorage, sick kids, husband gone, did I mention sick kids? Yeah, just craziness.

*5/2 - Here are some pics to get you started with.

Ok, so Gabriel is now walking and Donavyn is crawling. Funny thing is they both started on the same day. April 14 was a big day in the Koehler household. I was busy feeding Donavyn and trying to keep Gabriel from getting into things on the kitchen table and I kept telling him, "no, no". He did it a few times and by the last time I was so frustrated that I was going to pick him up and put him in time out, he looked at me, smiled, disobeyed, and I got up to get him. What does he do? Walks away! Not one step, but he walked a good 6 or 7 steps, fell to his knees and crawled away as fast as he could, laughing the whole way.

Later that afternoon, Gabriel is having his nap, I'm on the phone with Zach and all of a sudden little miss decides to crawl a few "steps". I could NOT believe it! She couldn't be shown up by her brother. She was going after a toy she wanted. It's now May 1 and she is pulling herself up. She started trying to crawl up the stairs about a week after she started crawling, but now she will stand there and walk along the width of the stairwell. She and Gabriel play on the stairs a LOT...which means a lot of falls and crying, but they're both tough cookies.

We went to Anchorage for Donavyn's appointment with the Pediatric Radiologist and found out she does indeed have kidney reflux. On a scale of 1 to 4 (4 being worst), she has stage 2 in the right and stage 3 in the left. She will be on Furdantin (a prophylactic antibiotic) for a year or longer, then have another VCUG to see if the kidneys have improved. If she gets another UTI while on the antibiotics she will have to have another test sooner to determine if surgery is needed. Pray it works! I don't like her on antibiotics for this long, but I hated seeing her in the hospital even more. We have to mix her meds with her bananas though, b/c she will not take them. I don't blame her. Why they make baby meds in banana flavor, one may never know, but you just can't reproduce banana flavor. They also don't make it in dye free which just ticks me off too. I could go off on a long tangent, but I'll spare you all that one.

Gabriel is such a fun little boy. He can make us laugh like nothing else. He is VERY ticklish. Not only that, but he loves being upside down more than any child I've ever seen. He's not happy until he's being tossed around. Not so much these days, but that's b/c he's been congested and coughing for a few weeks. Don't worry, everyone here has it. I'll give a brief synopsis of our weather yesterday to fill you in on why everyone is sick: rain, snain, snow, sleet, hail, high winds, more rain, then sun. Yup, just in one day. It was gross.

It's now raining and predicted to rain for at least the next 10 days as well. That's as far out as I can get on my Weather Channel Desktop, but I'm sure it will change a million and one times before those 10 days pass anyway.

Ok, here's a slideshow for you of the highlights of our month. It would take too long to put all those pics on here individually, so enjoy the show.

Ok, I'll have to do it tomorrow. The site is down for maintenance tonight. Sorry about that! I promise I'll get it done!

*5/2 - Ok, here is another. We went hiking with the Griffin's a few weeks ago. I really need to look at these pics a lot today since it's SNOWING....AGAIN! Argh. I really do love it here, but come on!
