North to Alaska


We have decided to start a blog to trace our steps from Florida to Alaska as we make "the big move". Our packers came today and they will come back in the morning to pick up our household goods (HHGs). We will be leaving Tampa on Wednesday morning and travelling to Pensacola to visit Beth's parents for a few days. Where will we be going after that? You'll just have to keep visiting to find out, won't you?

We will arrive via ferry on June 14 in Kodiak. We will be staying in a hotel until the 26th, when we move into our new home (see right - that's the former owner in the door waving). Isn't it beautiful? We are ecstatic. Now we just have to get our house here sold. If you're interested or know someone who is, please send them our way!

We will take turns writing about our adventures to give you all an idea of how we are dealing with the fun. We are really excited about our move and already have a group of friends living in Kodiak who we are looking forward to getting to know better. We will definitely miss all of the friends we have made here and hope that one day our paths will cross again.

If anyone has been looking for an excuse to visit Alaska, you will have a place to stay if you visit Kodiak. We have plenty of room! We love you all!

Your house is great!!! I am so lazy that I have not taken the 2 secs to drive around the corner to see it!! I also just figured out how to get to your blog! So I am a little slow thats all! It happens to a lot of people who live on an island. Thats my story and I am sticking to it!! If you haven't already, check out my blog, it has a lot of pics of alaska on it. See ya in a few weeks! Sorry I've been so bad about updating. Almost everyone is on Facebook , so I just usually do updates there, but I've been meaning to do this. Hopefully I'll be better. This will just be a quick recap of our summer and early fall.Back in June, we all went to San Diego for a few days. Zach was invited by the Discovery Channel to be interviewed for "After the Catch" - the post season recap with the captains of the "Deadliest Catch" vessels. Potty Trained!

Miss Donavyn is officially potty trained! She's even waking up in the middle of the night to sit on the potty or upset b/c she's pee peed in her pull up. She's doing great. Anyway...we're SO proud of her and she loves hearing that too. I believe we have figured out her love language - words of affirmation with a close second of physical touch. We tried doing the M&M's and stickers, but she didn't really care, just wanted us to give her a big hug and tell her how proud we are of her. Gabriel likes to help her celebrate too. She is so skinny though that panties are just saggy on her. I guess I'll be putting the underwear pattern I bought to good use. Just have to order fabric now. Oh, and she just HAS to read her books while on the potty. She can stay in there forever just sitting on her potty and reading. She gets that from her daddy. *snort* Here are some extra videos. Gabriel's big boy haircut and more

Shocker, I know. It's only been 10 days since my last post! Whatever are we going to do? I know....enjoy pictures! I'm pretty sure Gabriel was long overdue for a haircut. He was looking a little wild. I think it was driving him crazy too; he would pull at his hair a lot. He doesn't any more. I took him to my hairdresser, Alex. She is the only one I will trust with my hair. Her partner, Dana, is also very good to my friends, but Alex is my girl. Her son is a few months older than Gabriel, so she had some of his toys in her salon. Gabriel saw the car and was done for. He was SUCH a good boy. He just sat there and let her go at it. He wiggled a little, but not much. I was so proud of him. Donavyn just sat and played on the floor like a good girl so I could take pictures since Zach couldn't be there.
